Festival Team - March 10th, 2021
Thank you all so much for your patience thus far regarding details of the annual event, and we hope that everybody has been keeping safe and well during these testing times. Our team has been closely monitoring the situation, and it is with great frustration that we are announcing the postponement of our festival to the newly scheduled date of Saturday, October 23rd, 2021.
The UK Government’s four-step roadmap out of lockdown has recently been announced, outlining the potential date for removing all legal limits on social gatherings and events by (no earlier than) June 21st. We have set the newly proposed date to October in order to ensure that we can adequately prepare for the event that you are all so deserving of. We aim to announce the venue for the festival, as well as a full programme for the day’s screenings shortly after the national restrictions have eased.
Although necessary, we cannot emphasise how tough this decision was to make, and we really do apologise to everybody who was excited to participate in the day’s festivities. But please…
just hold on a little longer! Our team here at Screen Power is doing all that we can to provide filmmakers with an authentic live screening event, as promised, and we strongly believe that it’ll be worth the wait.
As you may know, our cultural institutions are struggling to survive amid the implications of the current pandemic, and we feel that this is an especially important time to promote and celebrate the traditional cinematic experience.
Screen Power Film Festival will align with our partner, Scream Power Horror Fest, which is set to take place the following day, Sunday, October 24th, 2021. Package deals and discounted tickets will be available to festival-goers who wish to attend the full weekend.
More details to follow via our mailing lists and social media channels.
Thanks again for your patience and understanding, we appreciate you all!
